About
Yohane is a violinist and composer who has played internationally for celebrity events and in iconic venues including the Royal Albert Hall, Barbican Centre, Sage Gateshead and Design Museum.

His combination of a dynamic sound and expressive playing inspired by jazz, neo soul and ambient music makes him a popular choice for live sessions including festivals and studio recordings. He has contributed to sessions and shoots for both local and multi-award winning artists.

As a violinist and drummer for an internationally recognised West-End church he is regularly booked for services and conferences with other UK-based organisations for his high standards and proficiency with the most common church music technologies.

The Booking Process
1 / Enquiry
Yohane receives your message, answers your questions and clarifies key details of your booking e.g. location, timings, song requests and important set pieces such as bridal entrances or dances.
2 / Short Consultation
A short video, phone or in-person meeting is scheduled for you to get to know Yohane and share your vision for your wedding at greater detail. This is also the perfect opportunity to chat through any more complicated questions you may have.

This step may be skipped for last-minute bookings where sufficient information has been gathered in the enquiry stage or if introductions have already been made at an earlier point.
3 / Quote & Confirmation
You'll receive a detailed quote with an accurate price for your booking plus the contract for you to read and make a fully informed decision.

The booking is then confirmed by signing the contract and making the deposit payment (up to 25% of the final fee).
4 / Preparation
Yohane will get to work on your wedding performance. Once you've approved the song list he'll learn any new songs you have requested as well as preparing or purchasing backing tracks for the wedding.
5 / Final Catch-up and Wedding
Depending on the date of the initial enquiry, in addition to any ongoing messages in the preparation stage you'll have one more phone call or meeting approx. 1 week or 1 month before your wedding day to confirm everything that will take place during the booking and make any final adjustments.
6 / Post-wedding and Follow-up
After the wedding you'll receive one more email with links to leave a review and to confirm your consent to share media of my performance with future clients.
FAQ
How much does it cost to hire Yohane for my wedding? Whilst prices vary for each booking based on factors including location, performance type and specific timings, as a guide the minumum cost for a local civil ceremony is approximately £250, with the rate for wedding ceremonies and bookings beyond 60 minutes increasing in line with the booking requirements. For an accurate price you can get in contact via the contact form at the bottom of this page to start your enquiry.
Do you require a deposit? Yes, a 25% deposit is required to secure the date. The remaining balance will then be invoiced 30 days before the wedding day.
How far in advance does Yohane take bookings? Yohane takes bookings up to the end of the calendar year or up to 9 months in advance for enquiries made from April
What information do you require about a venue? The precise address of the venue and coordinates will be helpful if you expect the address to be particularly tricky, as well as parking information. If the ceiling will be lower than 2m I may need to sit down to perform so that the violin bow doesn't hit the ceiling.
Do you provide sound and lighting equipment? Yes I bring my own PA and can also bring a basic lighting rig on request.
Can you provide a Spotify/DJ service before and between your sets? Yes, I'm happy to play music from Spotify before, after and between my sets. I'm happy to choose the music myself or let the client choose the music. For planning purposes, if music is desired before my first set or after my last set I'll have to be informed at the time of booking.
Are you happy to perform outside? Yes, Yohane can perform outside as long as there is a contingency plan for adverse weather and shelter from the elements including rain and direct sunlight. Access to power will also be required, or for electric violin performances Yohane can provide a simple battery operated setup.
What are your basic technical requirements? A full breakdown of my technical requirements can be viewed below in the Technical Specifications.
Technical Specifications
For small to medium events Yohane can supply all the equipment and cables needed for his performance, although, if you'll be using in-house PA and mixing desk, these are the inputs he will need for each possible lineup element:
Lineup | Inputs |
---|---|
Acoustic Violin (Un-amplified) | None - small events only |
Acoustic Violin (Amplified) | 1x XLR (48V phantom) |
Electric Violin | 1x XLR or 1x 1/4' jack or phono (RCA) |
Live Backing Tracks (from iPad) | 1x 3.5mm jack (aux) or x1 RCA or 1/4' jack |
Live Backing Tracks (pre-programmed DJ style set from laptop) | x2 1/4' jack (stereo LR) or Dante or USB Midi or phono (RCA) |
Electric Violin w/ DJ | phono (RCA) or XLR or 1/4' jack or enquire with requirements |
In addition to each of these, most performances will require a power source on stage or within a reasonable distance from the performance area unless discussed in advance, in which case a battery powered PA can be used. Outdoor performances may also require a sun/rain cover depending on the expected weather conditions.
